Star Wars Collectible Key (Disney Store Exclusive)

May the 4th is a day that every Star Wars fan looks forward to and enjoys. Disney Store released this exclusive key on their site and it was scheduled to launch at 7am PST. Many people were anticipating the release and getting this was more difficult than it should have been. First, Disney had a release from another line about two weeks earlier and the experience was a disaster. Many shoppers were not able to get what they wanted. And those that were able to purchase things, were met with long waits, unresponsive payment screens, disappearing carts, and many other problems that come along with high sight traffic. This release was supposed to be different. They had implemented a new virtual queue where the site would only let a certain number of people in at a time and give them ten minutes to add their items to their cart. Well, that part worked fine until you got to the payment screen. That, and that the counts on the items were fluctuating so badly that many gave up hope that they would ever get anything. My experience was quite interesting. I only wanted this and one other thing. I knew that this would be one of the more difficult things to get so, I had planned to get it in my cart first. Then, go after the other thing. After sitting on the wait screen for a while, the site let me in and I immediately added this to my cart. I went through and added the other item and went to checkout. Much to my dismay, the site was not allowing me to login to complete my order. I clicked to check out as guest and I was able to go to the order screen. I entered my contact, shipping, and payment information and clicked to submit the order. I got an error that the payment method could not be processed. I double checked the card number and entered the information again. Clicked the Submit button and got the same error again. After multiple tries with different cards, nothing was working. So, I just accepted the likelihood that I would not be able to purchase either item, emptied my cart, and left the site. However, about three o'clock, I checked the site again to see if things had slowed down. Much to my surprise, they were still showing as available. I quickly added one to my cart with the full expectation to see it disappear when I went to checkout. I got my other item and proceeded to checkout. To my astonishment, neither disappeared when I went to checkout. I fully expected that the site would not let me login, but it did. I got to the payment screen and, amazingly enough, it went through. I got the email confirmation a short time later. I received it on the 13th and I'm so glad that I was able to get one.
