The Hunt (Blu-ray)

Hey everyone! I hope you’re all having a killer day, are healthy, safe, and have had a least a little bit of down time to watch something you love. Speaking of love, how about this little gem of a film? This movie was the definition of a blind buy, as I quite literally knew nothing about the film, hadn’t seen a trailer, and even skipped reading the back of the blu synopsis. I based the purchase on the cover, the name, and the Instagram buzz 🐝 I’m literally the worst 😂 That said, this turned out to be a total and complete blast. Unexpected, darkly hilarious, savagely brutal, and surprisingly on the nose. This is a film that makes an enormously fun experience out of creating caricatures of real people with vastly opposing social and political positions, and then smashing them together in a gloriously outright fashion that makes you fully aware of all of the outrageous hypocrisy and insanity of “it all.” The approach of lampooning any and all sides of the conversation the film is clearly attempting to inspire both immensely satisfying and effectively done. While this film won’t win my best picture award for 2020, it may well win the award for the most pleasantly surprising. Fantastic flick, can’t wait to revisit it down the line
