Lots of vampire posts making the rounds today, and I was inspired to dig into this epic double feature of underrated, atmospheric vampire greatness. I love both of these films for very similar reasons. Both are crazy stylish, with fantastic leads, solid supporting casts, and as mentioned before, are both incredibly atmospheric in their own ways. Another aspect both films share is a deep rooted feeling of isolation. Where 30 Days of Night is concerned, it’s the physical isolation, and in Daybreakers it’s the isolation of the main character, and arguably humanity as a whole. These are two of my favorite vampire films that almost no one talks about, but I’ll be championing them until I get a stake in my heart. Any other fans? What are you watching tonight?
