Hello everyone!!! I hope you’re all doing well. Sorry I’ve been away, work has pretty much been sucking up all of my extra energy, and by the time I’m done for the day, I’m done for the day across the board 😂😵😴 So, in the spirit of said laziness, here’s an X-Men franchise repost from last year when I snagged up the penultimate entry in the Fox era film continuity (possibly final unless we ever actually see New Mutants!), Dark Phoenix. I had zero expectations for the final prequel series capper due to its absolute and total eviscerating at the maws of critics, audiences, and box office alike. I thought First Class was an absolutely superb reboot, and Days of Future Past is among my favorite X-Men films, period. Apocalypse was certainly flawed, but I found it extremely entertaining regardless. Boy was I pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this one final run with this second wave of incarnations of my beloved mutant heroes. It was a mess. It was completely all over the place, rushed, and absolutely another misplaced attempt to adapt a classic X-Men story arch. It was all of that. But it was also a whole of fun. It enjoyed hanging out with our friends one last time. Naturally I had to showcase the original run of films that changed superhero films as we knew them, the Wolverine saga in all of its glory, and of course, the absolute perfection that is Deadpool. Who else digs the X-Men films? Are you excited/nervous to see where Disney takes them?
