Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack/Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla

Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack: After nearly half a century of peace, Godzilla is a distant memory for most of Japan. The serenity is broken, though, when a US nuclear submarine is attacked and destroyed: Godzilla is back. Meanwhile, fictional documentary reporter Yuri Tachibana spots a mysterious old man near Mt. Myoko in Niigata who promptly vanishes. That night, the area is attacked by a creature described as "Red Godzilla". The beast turns out to be Baragon. Yuri begins to research and uncovers a book stating that Baragon is one of three guardian beasts along with Mothra and King Ghidorah. The book was written by Hirotoshi Isayama, who it turns out was the mysterious old man near Mt. Myoko. Hirotoshi foretells that the guardian monsters must be awakened to meet the oncoming threat of Godzilla... Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla: In 1999, a typhoon strikes Tateyama, Japan. During the storm, Godzilla emerges again to terrorize Japan. To counter the beast, the Type 90 Maser Tank is deployed. The weapon, however, prove ineffective at halting Godzilla. During the conflict, maser operator Akane Yashiro inadvertently slams into a jeep carrying her comrades. This causes the vehicle to land in Godzilla's path, who crushes it. The next day, after Godzilla has left the Japan mainland, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Science and Technology, Hayato Igarashi, discuss the situation. They realize that the maser tanks, which proved effective against earlier kaiju like Gaira, are not the answer. Consequently, Igarashi proposes building a giant robot out of the bones of the original Godzilla. To accomplish this, he assembles the top minds in Japan, including doctor Tokumitsu Yuhara. Four years later, the robot, known as Kiryu, is complete. It functions through DNA computers created by Yuhara. The giant machine is also equipped with the Absolute Zero Cannon, which freezes a target. Akane, who had been outcast after the incident in 1999, is asked to join the Kiryu Squadron. During a press conference, though, Godzilla suddenly appears in Japan. Kiryu is launched to the battlefield, but its initial attacks have little effect on Godzilla. Before Akane can fire the Absolute Zero Cannon, though, a roar from Godzilla roars sets off memories deep in Kiryu's bone cells from 1954...
