After the first mimic, the whole group changes. Once, a treasure chest was just good news. Now it’s a threat. DM says: “You see an old chest in the corner.” And suddenly the whole party goes on high alert. Rogue will make a Perception check. Wizard will use magic. The Fighter will strike it with something long at range. And the player who was last bitten by a mimic is already a few steps back on the way out. It’s such an experience that sticks with you. Suddenly it’s no longer “cool, loot” but more “okay, how is this chest trying to eat us?” Mimic 2 T-shirt is for the role-player who has learned that a chest in a dungeon is never just a chest. Not when the DM describes it a little too calmly. This isn’t paranoia. It’s experience. Nerdshop-tip: Throw a stone at the suspicious treasure chest first. If it growls, it’s a mimic.
