“THE DANGER BELOW IS NOW THE DANGER WITHIN…” Okay, moving right along, up for your perusal and my personal evening viewing, we have the underwater action horror film The Rift, also known as Endless Descent. This is one of the last straggling “everything goes to Hell underwater” films released from the late eighties through the nineties that finally made it into the vault. I’ve never seen this one, but given that it’s been compared frequently to other similar themed films such as Leviathan, The Abyss, DeepStar Six, and so forth, I’m sure it will be right up my alley. I’d say so far, it’s a dead tie between The Abyss and Leviathan for my favorite film in this sub genre. How about all of you? Any fans of The Rift? What’s your favorite underwater horror/thriller?
