Let's hang with the new Bowser Keepsake ornament by @hallmark. At $17.99, does this fella live up to its keepsake title? Let’s find out! Like all of Hallmark’s keepsake ornaments, this fella comes in a clean yet stylish package reminiscent of my white backgrounded feed. It’s a good idea to keep this box for storing this ornament to keep it fresh for years to come. Inside the box, bowser is wrapped in tissue and held in place with a plastic shell. As soon as you open it, magic oozes out of the tissue and onto your hands. This guy is beautifully and delicately sculpted. The quality reminds me a lot of the care that is put into amiibo. Bowser is nicely textured all over from his skin to his shell! This great sculpt is then met with an awesome mix of vibrant colors and a mix of finishes. I was instantly enamored by the nice red-orange color of his hair describing it as “hot.” The green in his shell is a nice vibrant green and the yellow of his skin is nice and even, creating an overall nice harmony between all the colors. But what takes it up a notch is the mix of matte, semi-glossy, and metallic finishes employed throughout, offering little visual stimulus as you admire Bowser from all angles. It is also nice that the screw eye on his back is small leaving behind a small footprint for those of you who want to use the ornament as a figure. Unfortunately it is embedded into his back and unable to be unscrewed. For scale warriors, I’ve included an image showing it with common Bowser figures including the World of Nintendo 6” and 2.5”, as well as the Super Mario amiibo. He is slightly taller than the 2.5” but shorter than the amiibo. Overall, there is just nothing wrong with this ornament and truly lives up to its keepsake name. I give it 5 out of 5 stars, you have to get it! If you don’t have a Hallmark store near you, you can order one from my storefront by tapping the link on my profile then tapping on the Nintendo Holidays list!

  • Hinnoittelu & ArvoWhat Your Nintendo 64 Is Actually Worth in 2024Pull that grey brick out of the loft and the first question is always the same: box or no box? With the Nintendo 64 it matters more than almost any other cartridge-era console, because Nintendo's cardboard boxes were flimsy, the styrofoam inserts got binned by every kid in 1997, and the little instruction booklets vanished into landfill. A loose cart of a common game is pocket change. The same title CIB – complete in box, inserts and all – can be a different animal entirely. Why boxed CIB copi
  • MarkkinanäkymätWhy FPGA Consoles Are Quietly Eating the Retro MarketAsk anyone who tried to buy an original Super Nintendo last year and they'll tell you the same thing: a decent boxed console isn't the casual pickup it was five years ago. Loose consoles still turn up cheap, but clean examples with the right cables and a working RGB-capable board have crept steadily upward. And here's the thing collectors are only now admitting out loud – a growing chunk of players have stopped chasing the original hardware altogether. The reason is sitting on a lot of shelves
  • Kunto & ArviointiHow to Grade GameCube Discs, Cases and Console BundlesTilt a GameCube mini-disc under a desk lamp and turn it slowly. Honest wear looks random – a stray arc here, a fingerprint there. But if the whole surface carries one uniform, circular swirl from hub to edge, like it went for a ride on a buffing wheel, you're looking at a resurfaced disc. That's not automatically a dealbreaker. It is something the seller should have mentioned. Small disc, small margin for error The GameCube's proprietary 8 cm disc is based on miniDVD technology, and its size
