Donkey Kong Land (Game Boy - Rare - 1995 - FAH) This adaptation of Donkey Kong Country on Nintendo’s handheld was impressive, back in the days. It proved that the famous ACM graphics could work on Game Boy. Unfortunately, it makes the game barely readable on some levels, especially in the jungle and mountain stages. Moreover, DK and Diddy’s sprites are too big for the fast action that consequently suffers from a light screen crunch. The controls are too slippery but the musics are fine and the cartridge comes in a glorious banana yellow. I don’t know if it was specific to the French retailers, but a CD of the OST of Donkey Kong Country was sold with the game (at least at Micromania’s): nothing special here but a nice collectible!
