Super Mario Land (Game Boy - Nintendo - 1989 - FAH) Alright, let’s start my Game Boy collection with a big one: Super Mario Land. The first time I saw it was when it was displayed on a TV screen in a toy store. I still wonder how it was done years before the release of the Super Game Boy. I also remember seeing someone playing it on the beach in the south of France: I’d prefer look at a badly lit green screen with Mario running and jumping from afar rather than enjoying the sea! Since then, I had many occasion to play this game (everybody had this one), so I didn’t felt the need to buy it for myself. It’s only years later that I needed it: how can you claim having a Game Boy games collection without Super Mario Land? A short but sweet game with nice little shoot’em up sections. I still enjoy to complete it when I have 40 minutes to spare.
