Trax (Game Boy - HAL Laboratory - 1991 - FAH)

Alright, here is the cutest game you can find on Game Boy. Trax is a little shmup, easy to learn, easy to master. But it’s appeal resides somewhere else: the attention to detail is huge, the controls are good and the cutscenes are some of the best on the system. Sure, you can finish the game in 30 minutes on your first sitting, sure it is plagued with massive slowdown, but the overall feel good vibrations of the game keeps you coming back. It even features a four player mode... that you can play solo! It’s such a shame it never had any follow-up... It may never reach any official top 10 or top 50, but Trax is one of my favorite games.
