I know that the rebranding of the Contra franchise into something else in Europe is weird to American players, and that it is often dismissed as inferior versions, but I definitely prefer playing as badass mechas over cheap knockoffs of Schwarzenegger and Stallone. Just look at the box art of every Probotector games: they’re amazing! I assumed tastes are dictated by what you’ve grown with, but I don’t understand why American player’s resent those European versions that much. Preferences aside, the game is really good, with fast and frenzy action shooting gameplay. I wish I had the first game too, it is quite difficult to find a CIB copy for a decent price nowadays...
