I remember when I first downloaded a bunch of Game Boy games for the brand new emulator I had installed on my brand new computer, when I was in college. Among all the various roms files I had, one particularly caught my attention: Samurai Spirits III. That was a sequel of one of my favorite Game Boy games of all time, how could I miss this? And why there is no Samurai Shodown 2? How weird to skip over it and directly port the third installment instead. Anyway, I had so many fond memories of the first episode that I couldn’t be but disappointed with this game: I is not as smooth, it plays differently in a bad way and the feeling isn’t the same. Sure, graphics might be better, but the music is so sub par compared to what I consider to be the best OST of the system. It is not a bad game by any means, but I would play the first installment any day instead.
