After the first mimic, the whole group changes. In the old days, a treasure chest was just good news. Now it’s a threat. DM says: “You see an old chest in the corner.” And immediately the whole party goes on high alert. The Rogue will make a Perception check. The Wizard will cast magic. The Fighter will strike it with something long from a distance. And the player who was bitten by a mimic last is already a few steps behind, heading away. It’s one of those experiences that sticks with you. Suddenly it’s no longer “cool loot” but more “okay, how is this chest trying to eat us?” Mimic 2 T-shirt is for the role-player who has learned that a dungeon chest is never just a chest. Not when the DM describes it a little too calmly. This isn’t paranoia. It’s called experience. Nerdshop tip: Throw a stone at the suspicious treasure chest first. If it growls, it’s a mimic.
