After the first mimic, the whole group changes. In the old days a treasure chest was just good news. Now it’s a threat. DM says: “You see an old chest in the corner.” And immediately the whole party is on high alert. Rogue will make a Perception check. Wizard will cast magic. Fighter will hit it with something long from afar. And the player who was bit by a mimic last is already a few steps back, heading away. It’s one of those experiences that sticks with you. Suddenly it’s no longer “cool, loot” but more like “okay, how is this chest going to try to eat us?” Mimic 2 T-shirt is for the role-player who has learned that a chest in a dungeon is never just a chest. Not when the DM describes it a little too calmly. This isn’t paranoia. This is experience. Nerdshop tip: Throw a stone at the suspicious treasure chest first. If it growls, it’s a mimic.
