After the first mimic, the whole group changes. In the past, a treasure chest was just good news. Now it’s a threat. DM says: “You see an old chest in the corner.” And instantly the whole party goes on high alert. Rogue will make a Perception check. Wizard will cast magic. The Fighter will strike at it from long range with something. And the player who was bitten by a mimic last is already a few steps back, heading away. It’s one of those experiences that sticks with you. Suddenly it’s no longer “cool loot” but more “okay, how is this chest going to try to eat us?” Mimic 2 T-shirt is for the role-player who has learned that a chest in a dungeon is never just a chest. Not when the DM describes it a little too casually. It’s not paranoia. It’s experience. Nerdshop tip: Toss a stone at the suspicious treasure chest first. If it growls, it’s a mimic.
