After the first mimic, the whole group changes. In the old days, a treasure chest was just good news. Now it’s a threat. DM says: “You see an old chest in the corner.” And immediately the whole party goes on high alert. Rogue will make a Perception check. Wizard will use magic. The Fighter will swing at it with something long from a distance. And the player who was most recently bitten by a mimic is already a few steps back, making their way away. It’s the kind of experience that sticks with you. Suddenly it’s no longer “cool, loot” but more “okay, how is this chest trying to eat us?” Mimic 2 T-shirt is for the roleplayer who has learned that a chest in a dungeon is never just a chest. Not when the DM describes it a little too calmly. It’s not paranoia. It’s experience. Nerdshop tip: Cast a stone at the suspicious treasure chest first. If it growls, it’s a mimic.
