After the first mimic, the whole group changes. In the past, a treasure chest was just good news. Now it’s a threat. DM says: “You see an old chest in the corner.” And immediately the whole party goes on alert. The Rogue will make a Perception check. The Wizard will use magic. The Fighter will strike at it with something long from a distance. And the player who was last bitten by a mimic is already a few steps back, on the way away. It’s one of those experiences that sticks with you. Suddenly it’s no longer “cool loot” but more like “okay, how is this chest trying to eat us?” Mimic 2 T-shirt is for the role-player who has learned that a chest in a dungeon is never just a chest. Not when the DM describes it a little too calmly. This isn’t called paranoia. It’s called experience. Nerdshop tip: Throw a stone at the suspicious treasure chest first. If it growls, it’s a mimic.
