After the first mimic, the whole group changes. In the old days, a treasure chest was just good news. Now it’s a threat. DM says: “You see an old chest in the corner.” And instantly the whole party goes on alert. The Rogue will make a Perception check. The Wizard will use magic. The Fighter will strike at it with something long from a distance. And the player who was last bitten by a mimic is already a few steps back, moving away. It’s one of those experiences that sticks with you. Suddenly it’s no longer “cool, loot” but more “okay, how is this chest trying to eat us?” Mimic 2 T-shirt is for the role-player who has learned that a chest in a dungeon is never just a chest. Not when the DM describes it a little too calmly. That’s not paranoia. That’s experience. Nerdshop tip: Throw a stone at the suspicious treasure chest first. If it growls, it’s a mimic.
