After the first mimic, the whole group changes. In the past, a treasure chest was just good news. Now it’s a threat. DM says: “You see an old chest in the corner.” And immediately the entire party springs to alert. Rogue will make a Perception check. Wizard will cast magic. The Fighter will strike at it with something long from a distance. And the player who was last bitten by a mimic is already a few steps back, making for the exit. It’s the kind of experience that sticks with you. Suddenly it’s no longer “cool, loot” but more “okay, how is this chest trying to eat us?” Mimic 2 T-shirt is for the role-player who has learned that a chest in a dungeon is never just a chest. Not when the DM describes it a little too calmly. It’s not called paranoia. It’s called experience. Nerdshop tip: Throw a stone at the suspicious treasure chest first. If it growls, it’s a mimic.
