Luxman vintage integrated high-end amplifier. The fairly rare 5L15 from their 1978-81 top-of-the-line “Luxman Laboratory Reference Series” - it originally cost over 8000 kroner in 1978 currency (more than 30,000 in 2018 currency) Truly nice and heavy item at about 13 kilograms. I have cleaned, oiled, and exercised all switches and potentiometers, so crackling is eliminated and everything now works as if new. The two illuminated Peak meters also function as they should. The Luxman notoriously problematic DML ICs have at one point been replaced with type two, so in that area there should also be no cause for concern. It sounds really good, with solid weight behind the attack and with a surprisingly fine level of detail that has surprised me several times during test runs. It has 5 line inputs (aux 1, aux 2, tuner, tape 1 and tape 2) It also has a, considering its age, exceptionally good phono input with optional sub-filter.
