Tonight I watched ”FPS: First Person Shooter”. This is a weird little German action/horror movie inspired by old school FPS games like ”Doom”, ”Duke Nukem 3D” and ”Blood”. It’s desperately trying to be funny, gory and over the top but the limitations of its budget and the lack of a decent script are killing the mood. For some reason the film is also constantly breaking the illusion of an FPS experience and that was propably the biggest turn-off for me. There’s a few fun and entertaining moments to be had with ”FPS” but towards the end it started to feel very tedious. If you’re looking for a fun action movie shot in first-person you should check out ”Hardcore” aka ”Hardcore Henry” and for horror fans ”[Rec]” is a more suitable candidate😊
