Chat rules

Keep conversations respectful and complete trades through Golisto. These rules cover messages, attempts to evade filters and pretending to represent Golisto.

Doxing

Do not disclose or threaten to disclose another person’s private information without consent.

Examples

  • Publishing someone’s home address to intimidate them.

Keep trades on Golisto

Do not move a trade, payment or trade communication outside Golisto. Physical collection is currently not allowed; items must be shipped. Sharing an ordinary external link alone is not proof of bypass.

Examples

  • Pay me by bank transfer instead of buying here.
  • Buy this on my webshop.
  • Come and collect it and pay cash.

Scams and impersonation

Do not deceive, phish or impersonate Golisto. A name such as SystemMessage or Golisto Support, branding or claims in a message do not make an account official. Consider the sender profile and message together. A suspicious name alone is not enough to sanction a user.

  • A user posing as Golisto asks for payment to unlock an account.

Trolling and harassment

Do not deliberately harass, intimidate or disrupt others. Disagreement, negotiation and legitimate complaints are allowed.

  • Repeated targeted insults or threats.

Unwanted advertising

Do not send unsolicited advertising or promote external shops. Relevant discussion of a Golisto listing is allowed.

Examples

  • Unsolicited invitations to shop elsewhere.

Spam and flooding

Do not flood conversations with repeated or unwanted messages. Several relevant messages in a normal conversation are allowed.

  • Repeated identical advertisements.

Private contact information

Do not share private phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses or sensitive identity/payment information in user chat messages. Usernames, ordinary names and Golisto-generated shipping/order information are not violations by themselves.

  • Sharing a private phone number to continue the trade elsewhere.

Do not evade the link filter

Do not disguise external domains to evade Stream’s link filter. Normal links handled or removed by Stream must not receive a violation solely for being links. Golisto domains and their subdomains are allowed. Recognize spaces, spoken punctuation, lookalike letters and invisible characters. Discussion or quotation of these examples is not itself an evasion attempt.

Warnings and chat restrictions

The first confirmed violation results in a warning. The next three violations each restrict sending messages for seven days. The fifth restricts sending messages permanently. You can still read and receive messages. One episode counts as one violation.

Golisto Official notifies you with the reason and evidence. You can appeal a decision from your case page. New rules apply from their effective date.
