The Pokémon Trading Card Game arrived in Japan in 1996 and reached the rest of the world in 1999. Base Set, Jungle and Fossil turned a playground craze into a collecting habit that never really stopped, and the Charizard everyone remembers from a school corridor is now one of the most recognisable cards ever printed.

Three decades on, the hobby runs on both ends at once: vintage holos in graded slabs, and modern sets pulled fresh from booster boxes. Both sit side by side here, listed by people who kept them.
