The first game to rival Mortal Kombat... and failing. But at the time, we didn't know that; in hindsight though, it's pretty clear who the real winner was. Killer Instinct was still a very good fighting game though, but it is also very much an acquired taste. It steals from MK without shame, but manages to put its own spin on many of the ideas.
