After the first mimic, the whole group changes. In the old days, a treasure chest was just good news. Now it’s a threat. DM says: “You see an old chest in the corner.” And immediately the entire party goes on alert. Rogue will make a Perception check. Wizard will use magic. The Fighter will strike at it from a distance with something long. And the player who was bitten by a mimic last is already a couple steps back, heading away. It’s the kind of experience that sticks with you. Suddenly it isn’t just “cool loot” but more like “okay, how is this chest going to try to eat us?” Mimic 2 T-shirt is for the role-player who has learned that a chest in a dungeon is never just a chest. Not when the DM describes it a little too calmly. It isn’t paranoia. It’s experience. Nerdshop tip: Throw a stone at the suspicious treasure chest first. If it growls, it’s a mimic.
