After the first mimic, the whole group changes. In the old days, a treasure chest was just good news. Now it’s a threat. DM says: “You see an old chest in the corner.” And instantly the entire party goes on high alert. Rogue will make a Perception check. Wizard will use magic. Fighter will strike at it from a distance with something long. And the player who was last bitten by a mimic is already a few steps back on the way out. It’s the kind of experience that sticks with you. Suddenly it’s no longer “cool, loot” but more “okay, how is this chest trying to eat us?” Mimic 2 T-shirt is for the role-player who has learned that a chest in a dungeon is never just a chest. Not when the DM describes it a little too calmly. It’s not paranoia. It’s experience. Nerdshop tip: Toss a stone at the suspicious treasure chest first. If it growls, it’s a mimic.
