Candyman (Blu-ray)

“BE MY VICTIM...” Well, naturally with the first trailer for the Jordan Peele produced (whatever the hell that means these days 😂) sequel of the 90’s horror classic Candyman dropping today, and the original being an all time childhood favorite of mine, I just had to revisit this juicy Scream Factory collectors edition 🐝 🐝 🐝 I watched this one endlessly growing up, and for years this film and its sequel Farewell to the Flesh were on constant rotation either through the rare times they played it on one of the fancy pay channels (I can’t remember which) or when I rented them from Blockbuster. This film more than many evokes a powerful sense of nostalgia in me, but weirdly it was the vastly inferior sequel that I watched far more. Upon revisiting the original earlier this year, it’s clear that this first entry is a much better film all around... but when has that ever mattered when it comes to the rose tinted glasses of nostalgia??? 😂What about all of you?
