Motherless Brooklyn (Blu-ray)

I’ve always been an enormous fan of Edward Norton, for as far back as I can remember seeing him. I think my first exposure to him was either Fight Club or American History X. Either one, they were both in close proximity, so I was immediately enamored with him as an actor. Naturally, I was stoked to finally see his long gestating passion product of adapting the 1999 crime novel Morherless Brooklyn had finally become a reality. This one didn’t entirely stick the landing with everyone, but by all of my measures, this was one fantastic film. I loved everything about it. Norton’s crisp and organic direction, his committed and at times truly mesmerizing leaf performance, the cinematography and period recreation... the pacing, story, supporting cast, Alec Baldwin in particular... everything was just excellent. This is one I’ll be revisiting often, and would highly recommend to anyone into crime/mystery films, and eccentric characters. Anyone else see this one?
