The Superman Anthology (Blu-ray)

Item image

With all of the excitement of the future of DC based films in a post Joker/Shazam landscape, and with at least one other massive financial win (Aquanman), I must say that I’m still a bit uncertain about what’s to come. I will say that I am extremely stoked to see how Matt Reeves pulls off this upcoming Batman retooling, and of course the prospect of a Joker sequel is definitely intriguing, but also worrisome given the original film’s basic nature as a stand alone story. Other than that, from my perspective, things still look kind of bleak. That’s said, I thought I’d showcase these two classic film franchises that perfectly encapsulate both the best, and most Saturday morning cartoon aspects of both of these iconic heroes. I still wish we had gotten a competent, full on awesome mashup of them both, but such is life. Who knows, maybe we will get to revisit that at some point down the line. I grew up watching the Tim Burton films, as well as the two follow ups, and all four have a huge place in my childhood memories. My love for the original Superman series came a little later in my teenage years, but once I saw Reeve’s iconic take on Superman, there really could be only one. Fantastic films, I’m thinking it’s time for a Batman Returns rewatch. I’ve got to pick these classics up in 4K stat! How about all of you? Any fans of these two DC classics? Are you excited for the future of DC film? Let’s chat!
