Clerks 2 (Blu-ray)

Okay, day two of broken body recover mode, next up on the View Askewniverse marathon we have Kevin Smith’s long overdue, thoroughly divisive sequel to the original classic, Clerks II. As an enormous fan of the original, I was a bit put off by this sequel from the get go. Most jarring was the change from black and white to color, and the overall feel of the film is more professional, less gritty, and more over the top. It just rubbed me the wrong way. Revisiting the film many years later, my feelings had completely evolved, which in retrospect, was exactly what Clerks II had done. While the second film was less dry and witty, it made up for it with its over the top shock value. I was stoked to revisit those characters like old friends. While it’s probably one of the lesser entries in the series by my estimation, there’s still a lot to love. How did you all feel about revisiting Clerks in this sequel?
