Jay & Silent Bob Reboot (Blu-ray)

Oh yes!!! You all knew it was coming! Over the last few weeks I’ve been slowly working my way through the six mainline entries in Kevin Smith’s View Askewniverse (sadly I don’t have a copy of the long out of print U.K. release of Jay and Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie 😭), the original and still the best cult classic cinematic universe 😎😎😎. I’ve been a lifelong fan of Smith and his work, and it’s been a privilege to grow up with this franchise. I’ve seen each film in its original theatrical run with the exception of Clerks, as I was a bit too young when it originally came out. While Smith’s filmmaking doesn’t really “evolve” so much as explore different facets of Kevin’s unique creative tendencies and what lunacy is born from them, I’m totally okay with that. While the films haven’t grown up with me, I’ve always had a powerful nostalgia for them, as I grew up watching a Kevin Smith film every few years all the way into my 20’s. It’s comfort food of the best possible kind. Maybe it isn’t high art, but there’s an authenticity of heart and childlike wonder in the best possible way with these films, and for me, that’s worth more than a thousand Oscars. Now, time to finally complete my marathon with this first time watch of Jay and Silent Bob Reboot 😁😁😁🤘🤘🤘 WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE VIEW ASKEWNIVERSE FILM, ONCE AND FOR ALL?!!! @thatkevinsmith

  • segaThe Mega Drive Is the Smartest Way to Start a Sega CollectionPick up a PAL copy of Streets of Rage 2 and the case still snaps shut the way it did in 1992. That one detail – Sega shipping games in hard plastic clamshells while Nintendo was still using cardboard – is half the argument for the Mega Drive as your first serious Sega collection. The other half: this was Europe's 16-bit machine, and today's PAL supply reflects it. Sega won Europe with the Mega Drive in a way it never managed in Japan. For a collector, that dominance means abundance: consoles, l
