“Pray For Daylight” Hello everyone and happy Friday to you all! I hope you are all having a smooth week. As for myself, it’s officially the weekend, and it’s a much needed one, as usual. I thought I’d take a moment to show off another epic, long sought after acquisition for the vault in the form of the legendary Katheryn Bigelow’s sophomore effort, the neo-western horror gem, Near Dark. There’s just so much to love about this criminally underrated, under seen, rarely mentioned flick. A game and consistently effective cast head up this stylish, eerie, gorgeously photographed, ominously bleak world of vampires, bikers, blood, and bouts of gory kinetic action. The film deftly balances the best elements of several genres, blending them into an intriguing, darkly serious, endlessly sexy experience that stands out as quite unique even today. Appearances from the legendary Lance Henricksen, and the late great Bill Paxton are just icing on this bloody flesh cake. Beyond psyched to have finally picked up this very hard to find flick for a more than reasonable price. How about all of you? Any fans of Near Dark?
