Fortress (Blu-ray)

“IN THE YEAR 2017, ONE CORPORATION IS BUILDING A FORTRESS FOR THE ULTIMATE TAKEOVER... YOUR MIND.” So, every once in a great while you come across a treasure so awesome, it makes every single day on the hunt an absolute blast and well worth the effort. As I was browsing the local video store (reopened with social distancing after months closed down!), I came across this absolute holy grail that I have been trying to find for years, for the paltry sum of 5 bucks 😲😎🤘I remember seeing this one on TV at some point in the early 90’s, or maybe I rented it from Blockbuster, I really can’t recall. I wasn’t more than 7 or 8 at the time, and although I couldn’t for the life of me tell you the play by play, I remembering being absolutely blown away by this film. I was already obsessed with Christopher Lambert from watching the first Highlander 3727711 times, and of course it never hurts to have the legendary Kurtwood Smith in literally anything. The special effects a bit on the lean side even then, and the sets were similarly spartan, but what I remember that my overriding feeling was always one of how crazy and unique it felt to me. So, going on 25 years later, let’s see how this one holds up! 😁I missed this bluray in the original print run, and as far as I know it’s either difficult to find or outrageously priced. Nothing better than finding a grail in the wild! Any other fans of Fortress?
