Parents + Serial Mom (Blu-ray)

All right, next up on my themed double feature series, we have one of my favorites of all, the homicidal family sub genre! There are many all time classics that fall under this umbrella, including but not limited to The Stepfather, The Shining, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Society... just to name a few. But of all the many options you have to scratch this particular itch, no films do it better than Parents and Serial Mom. Both are an absolute riot, filled to the brim with hilariously dark humor. In fact, more than thrillers or horror films, I see these as horror tinged black comedies. Maybe everyone else does too, but fear not, there is plenty for the horror hounds to enjoy as well. I throw these on when I’m feeling particularly zesty and want a morbid laugh or ten. Randy Quaid’s performance in Parents alone is worth the price of admission. Anyone else a fan of either of these?
