I was feeling a little bit post apocalypty today, and realized it’s been a good while since I’ve thrown on this literally all time classic. Snowpiercer was a blind buy for me the year it was released on bluray (2013ish?), and I honestly thought that it was going to be one of those low budget genre affairs I had been seeing a lot around that time. With John Hurt being one of my all time favorite actors though, I knew there had to be something worthwhile. I had no idea it would be one of the single greatest sci-fi films ever made, crafted by a future Oscar winning Korean director, starring several MCU alumni, and sporting one of the most singular visions of a future earth that I can recall. There’s nothing about this film that isn’t perfect. It really is one of the greats. I hope to see Bong Joon-ho return to sci-fi one day down the line. Any other fans?
