“FOR EACH OF MAN’S EVILS, A SPECIAL DEMON EXISTS...” Hello there and happy Wednesday to you all. Just one more day of work and it’s the weekend for me, which is always exciting. As I was unwinding after today’s madness, I thought it time to revisit another classic creature feature double feature 👻 this time around, we have the cult classic, and the legendary special effects wizard Stan Winston’s magnum opus, Pumpkinhead. The original is a childhood classic of mine, and I watched it more times than I can imagine. It was actually this Scream Factory release that got me into collecting for them, and it’s been a several times a year watch ever since. The sequel was one of those films that I didn’t like when I originally saw it. Over time and several rewatches its become an underrated favorite, with slightly loopier, less atmospheric feel, a game performance from Andrew Robinson (you know, poor man’s Randy Quaid!), and plenty of glorious Pumpkinhead goodness. I’m still hoping Scream or someone will put out a double feature of the remaining two films Ashes to Ashes and Blood Feud, as well as progress on the long planned but seemingly sidelined/forgotten reboot (Blumhouse, this is right up your ally!).
