Jack Reacher (Blu-ray)

Hey all! Up for your perusal, this time around we’ve got this fun little twofer from a few years back, the Tom Cruise helmed action thriller double feature, Jack Reacher, and its sequel Never Go Back. The first entry in this short lived series is actually quite good, with a new hero to root for, an engaging central mystery, and a typically solid performance from the always reliable Tom Cruise. Whatever you think about his odd personal antics, the guy is one of the most consistent performers in Hollywood. The sequel was... just fine. Totally, positively, unequivocally acceptable. I don’t think that the story they came up with was a particularly interesting one or even a good reason to bring the character back, but there were a few kinetic action scenes, and again, another serviceable performance from the Cruising man himself. I think if you must watch one, watch the original, but the sequel is worth a look as well. How about all of you? Any fans of the Jack Reacher series? Do you wish we got a third? How about a reboot?
