Whewwwww!!! Work, home, building shelves, cook, clean, finish shelves... I think it’s safe to say it’s time to to relax and unwind. I’ve been desperately trying to break my nearly nonstop horror/sci-fi marathon that’s been ongoing for months, and as I was browsing my local video store for something to watch, I came across this gloriously despicable pair of Christmas black comedies, the Bad Santa flicks. These movies quite literally don’t even try. They don’t pretend to be tied to anything enriching or particularly sub surface, and as because of this, there’s a crude, nasty fearlessness that’s is allowed to take the reigns and just run amok. And that really is what defines these movies. They’re unpretentious, nasty, and outrageously hilarious from pretty much start to finish, particularly the first. I love them both, even if they’re both terrible. I wanted to laugh tonight! Any other fans?
