“HER DRIVER’S LICENSE... HER CREDIT CARDS... HER BANK ACCOUNTS... HER IDENTITY... DELETED.” Okay everyone, it’s time for another trip way back into the far distant year of 1995. Now that may not seem like too long ago for some, but a lot can happen with technology in a quarter century. This is a techno thriller from smack dab in middle of the rise of the early internet, and it’s actually quite remarkable how much this film got right when it comes to how data would become essential to our every day lives. Take away our social media account, our banking information, our social security numbers... who are we? Do we exist? The same questions and the same dangers exist today, and while the film itself has dated a bit, and a lot of the technology may seem quaint and positively Jurassic by today’s standards, I think the film holds up really well despite that. And Sandra Bullock can sell me on pretty much anything. A fantastic 90’s time capsule, it will be great to revisit this one again 🤘Any fans?
