1408 + Identity (Blu-ray)

Item image

Hey all! So next up we have tonight’s featured double... feature... the theme? Creepy John Cusack films! Believe it or not, these two choice cuts rank as some of my favorite thrillers/psychological horror movies, period. They are both also on my list of most watched movies, as for some reason I just can’t seem to get enough of them. I know every character, twist, and big reveal of the sleeper gem Identity, and yet it’s atmosphere and execution just draws me in time and time again. Cusack’s jaded, disconnected, Mike Enslin, author protagonist of the Stephen King adaptation, 1408 is the same one I’ve seen go through the same inexplicable, supernatural, horrifying experiences time and time again, yet I always feel the anxiety and the confusion of his inescapable situation with the same impact. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, these are two of the most underrated gems in the horror/thriller field. They make an absolutely perfect double feature and complement each other well. Any fans of these ones? What’s your favorite John Cusack films? I’d of course choose these two, but throw in Being John Malkovich and Con Air as well 😎

  • segaThe Mega Drive Is the Smartest Way to Start a Sega CollectionPick up a PAL copy of Streets of Rage 2 and the case still snaps shut the way it did in 1992. That one detail — Sega shipping games in hard plastic clamshells while Nintendo was still using cardboard — is half the argument for the Mega Drive as your first serious Sega collection. The other half: this was Europe's 16-bit machine, and today's PAL supply reflects it. Sega won Europe with the Mega Drive in a way it never managed in Japan. For a collector, that dominance means abundance: consoles, l
