Hello hello and a fantastic Monday to you all! For now, it’s a sunny and clear day here in the Bay Area for the first time in weeks, and I thought it was high time for a rewatch of this outrageously epic debut from activists/rapper turned director Boots Riley, the dark comedy Sorry to Bother You. I picked this up mostly due to the crazy stacked cast, my love of the genre, and of course it being filmed literally in my backyard. The movie easily one of my favorites of the year, and the fact that it was set just across the bridge from my hometown added a lot of special significance. Weird, emotional, hard hitting, and of course, thought provoking, it’s always awesome to see an artist transition from one media to another. Have you seen this one? What did you think?
