Becky (Blu-ray)

Sometimes you just need a nice, straightforward, no holds barred visceral experience. Not every film needs franchise bait, a massive story of galactic importance, or some greater, noble cause to answer to. Nope, sometimes you just want to watch something that’s in your face, straight and go the point, and for my dollar, it doesn’t get much better than Becky. The film is lean, vicious, staggeringly gory, and impeccably led by the fierce and charismatic Lulu Wilson. Becky also features one of the only roles I’ve ever enjoyed from Kevin James as an escaped Nazi prisoner aiming to misbehave. He was solid. Definitely against character, but with some experience and work, I could see him easily transitioning into more serious work. Frankly, the description making the rounds of this film as an R rated brutal Home Alone is an accurate one. That is in no way meant to indicate a derivative concept, as the film is very much it’s own feral beast. Action packed, thrilling, I was on the edge of my seat the entire film. Fantastic across the board. What did you all think of Becky?
