They have trouble understanding Vældegård's orders, but he confides that in a very short time they have forgotten their mother, but they will never forget him. Back at the barracks, the guard commander (Dirch Passer) repeatedly vaunts how he cheats death for the guard, who, however, surprises him with striking arguments. During a march, Vældegård and his soldiers meet a little boy Nat (Nat Russel jun.), whom they bring to the barracks so he can play with the general's granddaughter (Anja Owe). Nat has a somewhat special pet - the bear Fido. Vældegård does not notice Fido, who in turn chases the boys up a tree, and when Vældegård finds them, he asks for an explanation, and everyone talks over one another in a panic. Nat is the son of a circus director (Ole Monty) and he stays at a children's camp for children from all over the world. Knud is captivated by one of the female leaders. Fido appears. Vældegård does not want it, but Nat gets his way. With their joint efforts they smuggle Fido into the barracks, but how do they get food for him? Their efforts put them in difficult situations. Unbeknownst to the soldiers, two competing generals (Karl Stegger) and (Ove Sprogøe) of the red team make a bet of 3 bottles of whiskey to decide who has the better soldiers, to be settled at a large-scale exercise. But the bear brings confusion, Vældegård is sentenced to quarter arrest because of Fido, but when the General (Karl Stegger) finds Fido at his granddaughter's place, he is released and Vældegård once again takes over the group. By accident, the red team learns that Vældegård leads the group, so the red team leader (Ove Sprogøe) orders to keep an eye on him with the big nose, which makes Vældegård take precautions. To get past the enemy guards, the boys must dress in women's clothes. During the exercise the battle swings back and forth between the two teams until Fido steps in to help. www.danskefilm.dk
