This time, the threat comes from a lethal virus linked with a couple of drug-running brothers, Ramon and Hector Salazar (Joaquim de Almeida and Vincent Laresca). Bauer has a personal connection with them because he went undercover to get Hector Salazar convicted. In the process, he also got addicted to heroin.
