Lesney Matchbox Super Kings Shell Rig

So bare in mind I paid a whopping $2 for this Super Kings Rig at a charity shop. It was a well loved piece but still rolled beautifully. I touched up all the paint chips on the white and yellow diecast pieces, re-chromed the cab wheels and trailer top, painted the headlights and applied new Shell decals to the cab (which, by fluke I just happened to have). For a total investment of about $3 I’m wrapt with how good this looks. Sure the tanker is yellowed with age but that’s unavoidable and even a prolonged dip in hydrogen peroxide wouldn’t do much long term good. Anyway, I’m looking forward to finding a place on the shelf for this vintage slab of diecast and plastic bad-assery. 👍🏻
