Mario’s Picross (Game Boy - Nintendo - 1995 - FAH)

In the midst of all the action games, fighting games and other shoot’em up that came out by dozens, one game caught my eye in the magazines of early summer 1995: a little puzzle game called Mario’s Picross. Its game system immediately clicked with me and I bought it as soon as it came out. The game is cute, the content is huge and challenging, and that might be the game that sparkle my interest in pixel art. It’s the only picross game we got in the west for a long time, but I had a solution to keep on playing some more: along with my friends, we used to create our own picross puzzles on paper and share them with each other. I’ve been a huge fan of every picross games since then, getting most of them on the DS, 3DS and Switch.
