I’ve already said this for the NES version, but I would rather play Tetris instead of Dr Mario. That doesn’t mean the game is no fun, it’s just that I prefer a more straightforward experience. This Game Boy port has a structural problem that makes it an inferior version. On the NES version, pills and viruses comes in three colors. It could have make sense to turn them into three shades of grey (well, green), but unfortunately, one of the pill/virus type is a mix between two different shades. As a result, playing this Dr Mario on a Game Boy Color or a Super Game Boy is really not confortable, as different shades blends together, making it less readable. It is not that noticeable on a classic Game Boy screen though.
