Tennis (Game Boy - Nintendo - 1989 - FAH)

Haaa, the simpler times, when a game of tennis was just called « Tennis ». As basic as it is, Tennis is a good game with the « less is more » philosophy in mind: the action is perfectly readable, the pace is fluid and even if the screen scrolls a little bit, you never miss a thing. The game was kind of ruined for me the day I heard about an exploit that grants easy wins: ever time it’s your turn to serve, just throw the ball but do not hit it! Just step forward in order to make the ball land on your head and you’ll get the point. Two things: Mario is clueless or he doesn’t really know the rules of tennis. Either way, that trick can help in difficult situations, but annihilates any will to play with someone else.
