Maru’s Mission (Game Boy - Jaleco - 1990 - USA)

The first time I heard about Maru’s Mission, it was when reading a book about video games walkthroughs written by Rusel DeMaria and Zach Meston called Secrets of the Game Boy Games vol. 2. It was basically the same thing as gamefaqs, only printed on real paper. Being an American book, it featured some American exclusive games, such as Maru’s Mission, which I never knew it existed before. I remember liking the tiny blurry screenshots and I really wanted to find a copy, but the game was nowhere to be found here in France. When I finally had the opportunity to try it, I was a bit disappointed: sure, the graphics are cute, but the jump physics is weird, as are the hit box detections. The game comes with two different cover arts, both are weird as well.
